Dr. Wolfgang Brunner
Dr. Brunner is an engineer and biologist with years of experience in plant design. He holds several patents and registered designs, was employed by reputed companies in Germany and abroad as a project manager and has excellent contacts with manufacturers and suppliers.
As a Senior Consultant with Klingel Consult he looks after the fields medical and environmental technology, bio engineering, chemical engineering, robotics and laboratory automation.
Career
Wolfgang Brunner began his professional education 1974 at the polytechnic in Munich and graduated 1979 as a precision mechanics engineer (Diplomingenieur (FH)). After a short spell of work he decided to start a new study course and graduated 1986 as a biologist (Diplom Biologe) at the University of Tübingen.
He then worked in a patent law office and at the E.-F.-Schumacher-Gesellschaft für Politische Ökologie (E-F. Schumacher Society for Political Ecology) and the Naturlandverband (Natural Landscape Association) in Munich.
1990 Wolfgang Brunner moved to the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering- and Biotechnology in Stuttgart as the patent protection executive (Patentschutzbeauftragter). There he developed a two phase automatic fermentation apparatus. 1995 he received a doctorate in chemical microbiology with the thesis "Optimisation and balancing of the microbial degradation of aromatic hydrocarbons in the Airlift bio reactor".
From 1996 to 2000 Dr. Brunner was responsible as the project manager at Clean Systems in Munich for the development and optimisation of dust filtration plants. During the installation of these plants at famous semiconductor companies in Korea and Japan he carried out a series of tests and customer training.
After this he supervised as the head of development "Lab automation Customized Systems" at MWG Biotech AG in Ebersberg among other things the development of a laboratory robot for the automatic preparation of samples for HIV diagnosis. He oversaw the tests and installation at customers’ premises in the UK and Canada.
